Teacher of the Year

Wyandotte Public Schools is proud to announce the 2014-15 Teacher of the Year is Amanda Royster.  Amanda teaches English I, II, and Honors English III, 9th-11th grades.  This is her fourth year at Wyandotte.  Amanda graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 2011 and will earn her Masters in Library Media in the spring of this year.  Amanda is also the Student Council Advisor and has worked on many outreach projects helping students in need. “What I love most about teaching is undoubtedly my students and the bonds I form with them,” Mrs. Royster says, “It is so rewarding to invest time and knowledge in them and watch them grow into young men and women with so much to offer the world.  I feel humbled and blessed to be a part of that process.”  “Mrs. Royster’s passion, love, and genuine desire for her students to maximize their potential are what education is all about.  Our students are blessed each day they attend her class.  She is what we are about at WPS and I am proud to call her one of our own,” Troy Gray, Superintendent. Mrs. Royster’s husband, Cameron also teaches at Wyandotte High School.  They and their daughter, Cora resides in Carl Junction, Missouri.
