Wyandotte HS Prom will be held this Saturday, April 17th at the RiverBend Convention Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All students will enter through the south entrance behind the hotel, if you use the western drive way of the hotel it will take you to the back parking lot. Pictures can be taken in this area as well as parent send-off. Once they enter the convention center, students will have to stay until they plan on leaving for the evening. Thank you to our patrons who participated in the College and Career Readiness Assessment (CCRA) survey. The Wyandotte Public School board has approved the ACT in lieu of the statewide assessment to be administered to juniors.
The Child Nutrition Department has reviewed the responses to the meal request forms. Unfortunately, there were not enough requests to set up a drive through lunch service. Starting Tuesday, September 22nd, we will send out a shelf stable breakfast and lunch with each child to have for the following day while virtual. SCHOOL LUNCH INFORMATION: Beginning immediately ALL STUDENTS and children, 0-18 years of age, may receive free meals through the Wyandotte child nutrition program. Oklahoma has been granted a waiver through December 31st for this program or until federal funding runs out. It’s still very important that you complete the free/reduced meal application. We are working to provide lunches for students on "virtual days" with a drive-thru pickup. More information will be available next week. Keep an eye out!
There will be a Gifted and Talented Committee Meeting on September 16, 2020 in Mrs. Morisset's classroom in the high school. It is a public meeting but it is only those that serve on the committee that speak according to OMA rules. The agenda is posted on the front window of the middle school/high school entry.
Just a reminder as we posted last week, "We will start school with our Hybrid Learning (A/B schedule). “A” students' first day is August 13 and “B” students' first day will be August 14. We plan to continue our Hybrid Learning (A/B schedule) during the week of August 17th through August 21st so we can practice this schedule and correct any unanticipated problems. Students and staff will be required to wear face coverings while on the bus and while passing in the hallways. When students are in the classroom where socially distancing is possible, masks will be optional." #BFND

Wyandotte High School would like to announce a time change for the 2020 Commencement exercise. Commencement will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 20, 2020 at Brewster Field. This change in time was considered because of the possible storms that were in the forecast to move in on the evening on June 20th and to help with the heat that is already started to set in for the summer.

Today is lunch hero’s day. This year it is celebrated a little differently… during this crisis, the cafeteria workers and maintenance have teamed up and served over 11,400 meals to kiddos in the area. Children still participated by giving special cards through the drive through food line, thanking everyone for all they do. I am so proud of the team effort and all of the hard work they have put in through this time. A special thank you to Troy for helping make our luncheon from Olive Garden a success!!! Beginning Tuesday, March 24th we provide a meal pick up program for children and community individuals 18 years of age and younger. There is no cost for these meals. The drive through pick up will be in front of the HS from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. daily. Individuals will receive a lunch for that day and a breakfast for the following day. Currently, according to Federal Child Nutrition guidelines, all individuals must be present to receive meals. We will analyze the success of this program and adjust accordingly. Today the State Board of Education voted in favor of mandatory closure of all Oklahoma public schools from March 17 through April 6. I know there are a lot of unanswered questions. This week we will have a Zoom meeting with the State Superintendent and I will meet with area superintendents to game plan. We appreciate your support and understanding.
