Wyandotte Nation Environmental Fair

2  weeks ago the Wyandotte Nation’s Planning & Natural Resources Department held its 13th annual Environmental Festival on Friday, April 14, at the Tribe’s Pow-Wow grounds. Wyandotte Nation invited Wyandotte Public Schools, kindergarten through 8th grade to attend. Eight northeast Oklahoma tribes participated in this event, including the Wyandotte, Eastern Shawnee, Seneca-Cayuga, Cherokee, Modoc, Miami, Ottawa, and Peoria Tribes. They had 16 booths set up and 42 workers. Some of the stations they had are Lost Creek recycling, Soil erosion, Water quality & Soil quality, Pollution with mussels, Gathering sap with Wyandotte Nation, The Three sisters, Harvesting food, DARE, Bearskin wellness, Wildcat Glades/ animals habitats which they had a skunk, a king snake, Soil conservation, Bats and Bee conservation, Recycling. 

We were so glad they were able to have it again this year!
