At Wyandotte Public Schools, we believe in recognizing acts of integrity, leadership, and selflessness—and today, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on our very own Superintendent, Mr. Brad Wade.
This shoutout comes straight from one of our observant and thoughtful students, 4th grader Walker Jackson. Walker witnessed something that many may have overlooked but made a lasting impression on him.
Earlier last month, a box full of kitchen items had spilled in the middle of the 4-way intersection in front of the school. As traffic began to slow down and swerve around the debris, Mr. Wade took it upon himself to walk from the school, carefully pick up the box and all of its scattered contents, and carry it back—clearing the road and ensuring everyone’s safety.
Walker happened to be at the intersection and watched it all unfold. In his own words:
“I seen Mr. Wade pick up the box from the middle of the road, then walk it back all the way to the school when he didn’t even have to do it. I think that he should be given an award or shoutout for the thing that he did.”
Mr. Wade’s actions that day were a powerful example of servant leadership—doing the right thing simply because it’s right. For Walker, and for many of us, it was a reminder that leadership isn't always about titles or decisions made behind a desk—sometimes, it's about rolling up your sleeves and setting an example through action.
In a world full of choices, be the change.
Thank you, Mr. Wade. Your character and dedication continue to inspire us all at Wyandotte Public Schools.
