A few of Wyandotte Business Professionals of America students attended the Fall Leadership Conference in Norman, Ok on Monday, October 16th. Students were able to pick 3 sessions covering leadership topics such as taking risks, working with others successfully, community service, and social media conducts.

Mr. And Mrs. Burns are getting ready to start Real Flight simulators to prepare students to fly the new model plane. BEARS Aviation Afterschool Program meets on Wednesdays after school until 4:30 p.m. for grades 5th-8th. 5th graders must bring a note to stay after school.

Wyandotte TSA students attended the Fall Leadership Conference in Norman, Oklahoma this past Wednesday. This is an annual conference for TSA members to gain the leadership skills necessary to help guide their TSA chapters throughout the year. In addition to leadership workshops, members had the opportunity to explore different careers through an interactive industry panel, take part in a STEM challenge, network with other TSA members and participate in community service activities.

On Thursday, October 5th, several Wyandotte students attended the Aeronautics Commission Student Pilot Day at Hangar 80 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event offered booths and presentations. The learner rotation included a visit to the Planetarium, Museum, Hangar 80 (with American Airlines Crew Booth Visits), and Static Displays. With each rotation, new schools had the opportunity to observe and encounter innovative things.

On Thursday, October 5th we got the opportunity to take a group of students to the Newton County career expo fair who are interested in, or thinking about, a career in the manufacturing industry. Students engaged in several different hands-on activities with employers to help them understand and learn what is done on the job every day. Students also had multiple opportunities to talk with employers about possible career opportunities.

The admission fee is $5.

Tulsa State Fair: Livestock Judging & Cattle Grading
On September 28th members of the Wyandotte FFA traveled to the Tulsa State Fair to compete in the Tulsa State Fair Cattle Grading Contest

We will begin open mat practices on Wednesday, October 4th 6:00-7:30 pm. We will start having open mat practices for anyone to attend on Mondays and Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 pm until November when regular practices will start. Open mats will be open to 4 year old-Seniors in high school. Practices location is at 14291 s 690 rd Wyandotte, OK 74370. No signups required for open mats. On Thursday September 28th MS& HS Gifted and Talented students met and they did a Pringle Ringle activity. The activity required them to make a ring of Pringles without using any other items. They watched videos about physics, force, and friction.
