On Friday, November 10th, Wyandotte held their annual Veteran’s Day assembly. This assembly is student led by Ms. Coyne and the following student organizations; NHS, FFA, TSA, STUCO, FCCLA, Band, SMAC, NJHS, Underground Choir, and elementary students. Our SMAC (Students Making a Change) organization packed Christmas shoeboxes. The official shoebox operation delivers the good news of Jesus to children around the world that receives a shoebox. Each box is packed full of toys, school supplies, and personal care items that the kids get to have. Each child that receives a shoebox gets a wow item which was like a doll, stuffed animal, or other toys. They get personal care items, clothing, crafts and activities, and toys. On Tuesday, November 7th, the Northeast Choral Directors Association held the 2023 Honor Choir performance in Tulsa. Jacey Holcomb and Archer Huffman represented Wyandotte. There were approximately 115 junior high students in the choir where Huffman performed. The HS choir had 114 students and Jacey Holcomb was part of that group. Forty area schools were represented in the performance that was held at First Baptist Church, downtown Tulsa. Congratulations to both for the excellent job. Wyandotte Business Students had the opportunity to create vinyl decals and apply them to our new buses. This will help our drivers and administration organize the transportation lists daily. Mrs. Robertson said that she is always looking for real life experiences for her students and this was another great opportunity for our students and our school district to work hand in hand. Brylen Bartley and Kaydence Harjo both signed to play softball for Fort Scott Community College. Brylen Bartley earned the District Pitcher of the Year, Regional 1st team Pitcher, and Small East All State Pitcher. Wyandotte TSA took a trip to the Pitt State Career Expo Where students attended the "Building My Future" event at the College Heights Athletic Complex. The expo featured hands-on activities organized by various employers to help students gain practical insights into the daily operations of different jobs. Wyandotte High School will hold their annual Veteran's Assembly on Friday, November 10th from 9 am - 10 am in the New Gym. Thank you so much for your service and everything you do for our country. Veteran’s Day is a national holiday in the United States. Veteran’s Day is observed on November 11th each year, and is a day set to honor all military veteran’s both living and deceased who have served in the United States Armed Forces. On Saturday, October 28th, Wyandotte High School boys Cross Country team competed at the State Meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School. The team placed 11th overall. On Thursday, October 26th, our Gifted and Talented students went to The Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium. The Students had to opportunity to dissect sharks and walk around the aquarium and look at all of the animals. Designed by communication specialist Rilynn Stewart

On Saturday, October 28th, 4 Wyandotte students auditioned for All-State Choir. Archer Huffman qualified for the 2nd round of the Junior High All-State Choir. This event aimed to raise awareness and foster understanding of the difficulties that today's youth must overcome. The children could ask whatever questions they had regarding the services that were available since local partner groups were prepared to respond. Students had the opportunity to go and see MSSU Art Day and participate in Majolica Painting, Woodblock Print Demonstration & Serigraphy Print, and Mural Painting. They also enjoyed a campus tour, lunch in the dining hall, and a guest speaker who is also an instructor at the University of Arkansas.
